The Way to the Cross – Wednesday 27 March

Today is Holy Wednesday, also known as Spy Wednesday remembering the betrayal of Jesus by Judas.

The collect for today is: Lord God, your Son our Saviour gave his body to be whipped and turned his face for men to spit upon. Give your servants grace to accept suffering for his sake, confident of the glory that will be revealed; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

The material for today contains the Gospel reading, a short reflection, some music suggestions, poetry by George Marion McClellan and Emily Bronte, and the oil painting ‘Shapes of Fear’ by Maynard Dixon. The material can be read below, or downloaded from here: HolyWednesday_2024
