Retiral of our Diocesan Secretary

Bishop Anne writes:

After many years of very faithful service,  John Whittall is retiring from the role of Diocesan Secretary.  He is stepping down at this point in the year so that a successor can be identified before the next Diocesan Synod. There will be an opportunity to thank John for his service to the diocese at the Synod at the end of February 2020.

The Honorary Diocesan Secretary is elected by the Diocesan Synod, and is a key link between the General Synod Office in Edinburgh and the Diocesan Office in Aberdeen. The Diocesan Secretary assists the Bishop in preparing for the Diocesan Synod each year. The Diocesan Secretary serves as an ex-officio member of the Standing Committee, and other committees as appropriate.

Any person who is interested in serving the diocese in this role should contact the Bishop for a conversation.
