Passing of Rev Alan Bartlam

The Reverend Alan Bartlam, a retired priest in the Diocese of Aberdeen & Orkney, has sadly passed away.

The Rt Rev Dorsey McConnell, Acting Bishop of the Diocese, paid tribute to a “caring and faithful priest”.

“I am sad to inform you that our brother, the Reverend Alan Bartlam, passed away suddenly last Thursday,” said Bishop Dorsey. “Though retired, Alan took services for many years at All Saints Strichen, with his wife playing the organ, and was always ready to help out in other congregations.

“He was a caring and faithful priest, well loved by those he served, and will be greatly missed.

“At his request, there will be no church funeral, and the interment will be private.

“Please keep his wife Jane, and their two sons Timothy and Peter, in your prayers over the coming days.

“May he rest in peace and rise in glory.”
