Nominated Canons

The Bishop of Connecticut and the Bishop of Aberdeen and Orkney are pleased to announce their nominations for canons to each other’s cathedrals.

The Revd Rebekah Hatch has been nominated by Bishop Ian Douglas to be a canon of St Andrew’s Cathedral Aberdeen. In making this nomination Bishop Ian said:

The Revd Rebekah Hatch is an active, wise and energetic young clergy person who will represent Christ Church cathedral and the Episcopal Church in Connecticut with joy and distinction. ‘

The Revd Lynsay Downs has been nominated by Bishop Anne to be a canon of Christ Church Cathedral, Hartford. In making this nomination Bishop Anne said:

‘I am very pleased to nominate Lynsay to represent our diocese to Connecticut. Lynsay is an experienced priest with a particular interest in enabling churches to better respond to neuro-diversity, for example autism. Many churches in this diocese are concerned with the inclusion in worship and church life of those with various disabilities. Lynsay will be look forward to sharing some of what we are learning in Connecticut.’

These nominations have been accepted, and the bishops look forward to installing the new canons in their cathedrals in due course.
