The Diocese is reflecting theologically on environmental issues this year through the Christian Life project “All Creation Waits…” (funded by a grant from the Benefact Trust). To continue these reflections, a reflection activity will be posted each day (in the Food for Thought section of this website).
Each week, the whole week’s material will be posted at the beginning – the reflections and activities can be done in any order you choose. There are activities outside – the weather may impact when you do them!
AS I watch’d the ploughman ploughing,
Or the sower sowing in the fields—or the harvester harvesting,
I saw there too, O life and death, your analogies:
(Life, life is the tillage, and Death is the harvest according.) – As I Watch’d the Ploughman Ploughing by Walt Whitman
Day 3: Harvest Thanksgiving traditionally involves giving thanks for the Harvest by gifting food to those less fortunate.
Today you’re invited to donate and/or pray for your local food bank.
