The Diocese is reflecting theologically on environmental issues this year through the Christian Life project “All Creation Waits…” (funded by a grant from the Benefact Trust). To continue these reflections, a reflection activity will be posted each day (in the Food for Thought section of this website).
Each week, the whole week’s material will be posted at the beginning – the reflections and activities can be done in any order you choose. There are activities outside – the weather may impact when you do them!
Today is the last day of the Season of Creation, in many churches in the Diocese, Harvest Festival will be celebrated.
When you reap your harvest in your field and forget a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it; it shall be left for the alien, the orphan, and the widow, so that the Lord your God may bless you in all your undertakings. – Deuteronomy 24: 19
Day 7: “Give thanks to our gracious God: whose mercy endures forever.” (Scottish Liturgy, post-communion sentence).
How do you see God’s grace and mercy at work today?
