Bishop Anne has appointed the Revd Godwin Chimara as Priest Missioner for North Aberdeen and Priest-in-Charge of St Ninian’s, Seaton. Godwin will take up this post on 31 October 2026.
Godwin is currently serving as curate in the charges of St John’s and St James, Aberdeen. He has a passion for evangelism and mission, and currently serves as the Aberdeen and Orkney representative on the Provincial Mission Board.
Godwin will be commissioned at St Ninian’s, King Street, Aberdeen at 5pm, on Saturday 31 October. You are warmly invited to come to support Godwin and the congregation of St Ninian’s at the beginning of this new ministry.
Speaking about the appointment, Godwin said “It has pleased our good Lord, the Bishop and the resilient faithfuls at St Ninian’s Aberdeen to call me to this post. God being our helper, I look forward to working together with all in proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ, advancing the kingdom of God, and revitalising the presence and witness of the Scottish Episcopal Church in North Aberdeen.”
