You’re invited to a A Lent Lunch in aid of Christian Aid – Climate Justice Projects (Bishop’s Lent Appeal 2026)
Join us for a simple Lenten lunch and to find out more about the work of Christian Aid’s Climate Justice projects. We will hear about Christian Aid’s work from their guest speaker: Rev Jenny Adams.
The Lunch is on Monday 16th March 2025 from 12 noon to 2pm at St James’ Church, 1-3 Holburn Street, Aberdeen, AB10 6BS. Christian Aid works with local partners and crisis-affected communities on the causes and consequences of climate change, so the most marginalised can adapt, build resilience and reduce their vulnerability. They focus on climate resilient agriculture, climate finance, loss and damage restoration and climate information services and early warning systems.
At its core, Christian Aid’s climate work stems from our belief that change is possible. Communities should be able to live with dignity, respond effectively to climate-related disasters, risks and opportunities, and build thriving resilient livelihoods. Resilience should be both a continual capacity-strengthening process – enhancing the ability of individuals and communities to anticipate, organise for and adapt to change and an end goal.
