The Diocese is reflecting theologically on environmental issues this year through the Christian Life project “All Creation Waits…” (funded by a grant from the Benefact Trust). To continue these reflections, a reflection activity will be posted each day (in the Food for Thought section of this website).
Each week, the whole week’s material will be posted at the beginning – the reflections and activities can be done in any order you choose. There are activities outside – the weather may impact when you do them!
In the seventh year there shall be a sabbath of complete rest for the land, a sabbath for the Lord: you shall not sow your field or prune your vineyard. You shall not reap the aftergrowth of your harvest or gather the grapes of your unpruned vine: it shall be a year of complete rest for the land. – Leviticus 25: 4-5
Day 4: Leviticus 25:4-5 speaks of land having fallow years for sustainability., to rest, and recover.
- How do you see this in practice in land use practices today?
- How might our personal practices contribute to earth sustainability?
