Do you have a favourite hymn about Jesus?
We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
On Sunday 14th September at 4pm at St Mary’s, Carden Place, Aberdeen the Diocese will be gathering to celebrate the Festival of Holy Cross. We will be celebreating Lay MInistries across the Diocese and the Dean will preach. The service will include lay people sharing their favourite hymns about Jesus and us all singing them (similar to Songs of Praise). There will be a procession of Processional Crosses from across the Diocese.
Holy Cross is a Feast of the Cross, it is one of the celebrations through the year which honour and celebrete the cross used in the crucificion of Jesus. It is a day that celebrates the Cross itself, as a sign of salvation. It is also known as Holy Rood day.
If you’re planning to attend, it’s useful – but not compulsory to let the Dean know via email.
