Today is the second Sunday in Lent, in our Lent to Pentecost course we read the Revised Common Lectionary scripture appointed for this day. This is on of the days that the Feast of the Transfiguration can be observed and there are two Gospel options for the Second Sunday of Lent. Ashes to Fire is reflecting on Luke 13:31-35, but this may be different to the Gospel (and other readings) you hear in church on Sunday 16th March.
The Collect for today is O God, you see that we lack the strength to help ourselves: protect us both inwardly and outwardly; that our bodies may be guarded from adversity, and our minds may be defended from such thoughts as assault and harm the soul; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.
